Loaded Low-Carb Burgers

OZO™ Plant-Based Burgers 4 Burgers
Large yellow onion, sliced thin (yield 1½ cups) 1 Onion
Unsalted butter 2 Tablespoons
Kosher salt ½ Teaspoon
Iceberg or butter lettuce 1 Lettuce Head
For the Sauce
Vegan mayonnaise ½ Cup
Ketchup ¼ Cup
Coconut aminos 1 Tablespoon
Dill pickle relish 1 Tablespoon
Smoked paprika ¼ Teaspoon
Ground black pepper ⅛ Teaspoon
Crushed red pepper ⅛ Teaspoon
Optional Toppings
Sliced tomatoes, pickles, sliced avocado
Plant-based Burger Patties


Step 1
In a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-low heat, cook onions, butter, and salt, stirring frequently until the onions are golden and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and set aside.
Step 2
Preheat griddle to 325°F and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Cook burgers 3-5 minutes per side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove from heat.
Step 3
Add all sauce ingredients to a small mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Adjust seasoning as needed.
Step 4
Cut the base of the lettuce head and carefully peel the leaves away so they stay as intact as possible.
Step 5
Using 3-4 leaves per burger, place the cooked patty in the center and top with caramelized onions and desired toppings. Drizzle with the sauce to taste. Wrap the lettuce around the patty as tightly as you can. Slice in half and serve.
