Hearty Spaghetti

OZO™ Plant-Based Ground 1 Package
Unsalted butter ¼ Cup
Yellow onion, diced 1½ Cup
Sliced cremini mushrooms, diced 4 oz.
Garlic, minced 1 Tablespoon
San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes (1) 28 oz. Can
Kosher salt 1¼ Teaspoons
Ground black pepper ½ Teaspoon
Red pepper flakes ¼ Teaspoon
Spaghetti (1) 16 oz. Package
Shaved Parmesan cheese ½ Cup
Fresh basil, chopped ¼ Cup
Plant-based Ground


Step 1
Melt butter in a 4-5-quart saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the OZO Plant-Based Ground to the pan and cook until the ground is browned and crispy, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks, about 4-5 minutes.
Step 3
Add the onion, mushrooms, and garlic and cook, stirring constantly until onions are translucent and mushrooms have released their liquid, about 4-5 minutes.
Step 4
Add tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and pepper flakes and bring the mixture to a boil, breaking up the tomatoes as they cook. Reduce heat to a slow but steady simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes are no longer watery and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 10 minutes.
Step 5
Cook pasta according to package directions. Toss with the sauce and divide between plates. Top with Parmesan and basil and serve immediately!
