Animal Fries

OZO™ Plant-Based Ground 12 Oz.
Large yellow onion, minced (yield 1½ cups) 1 Onion
Unsalted butter, divided 3 Tablespoons
Kosher salt ½ Teaspoon
Frozen French fries 30 Oz.
American cheese 6 Slices
For the Sauce
Mayonnaise ¼ Cup
Ketchup 3 Tablespoons
Dill pickle relish 2 Tablespoons
White vinegar 1 Teaspoon
Smoked paprika ¼ Teaspoon
Ground black pepper ⅛ Teaspoon
Plant-based Ground


Step 1
Add the sauce ingredients to a small mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Adjust seasoning to taste and set aside.
Step 2
Add onions, 2 tablespoons butter, and salt to a 12-inch nonstick skillet and cook over medium-low heat and cook, stirring frequently until the onions are golden and caramelized, about 20-25 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and set aside.
Step 3
Bake fries according to package directions.
Step 4
Add the ground and remaining tablespoon butter to the skillet and cook over medium heat until internal temperature reaches 165°F, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks, about 4-5 minutes.
Step 5
When the fries are done, remove from oven and top with cheese slices. Pour the cooked ground, caramelized onions, and sauce over the top, and serve immediately!
